Fatal Wreck: Woman, 64, Hit By Van In Lawrence Dies Week Later, DA Says

A 64-year-old who was hit by a van last week in Lawrence has died of her injuries in a Boston hospital, authorities said.

Silvana Seabra, 64, of Methuen, was hit just before 2:45 p.m. on April 3 at the intersection of Lawrence Street and Erving Avenue, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. Paramedics rushed her to Boston Medical Center, but she succumbed to her injuries on Monday, April 10.

A man who was also struck by the van suffered minor injuries and is recovering at home after being treated at Lawrence General Hospital, the prosecutor said.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities are withholding the driver's name until the troopers finish that inquiry, the prosecutor said.

Several people posted memorials to Seabra as news of her death spread.
